Broadening my health care skills
Read all the fine print before picking a college program

Meghan Marshall decided to translate her interest in broadening her health care skills into a degree she could put to work.
Marshall, from Naples, Fla., is enrolled in the cardiovascular technician program at Edison State College.

“But something was bothering me about that school,” she says. “Turns out that the school is accredited, but the course for (my major) is not. I would have dropped $35K on an education that would have afforded me nothing.”
That’s one reason, she says, that adult learners should “read the itty-bitty print” when applying to college.
